Boys Hoops:
Damien took a big step towards a potential regular season Baseline League title on Thursday.
The Spartans secured a comfortable 56-43 victory at Etiwanda.
DHS jumped on EHS early with a 26-6 first quarter surge.
Zaire Rasshan had a huge night with a game-high 23 points.
Rasshan hit four 3-pointers, and he went 7-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Eli Garner scored 10 of his 14 points in the Spartans dominant first quarter run.
Kameron Dodson scored six points on a pair of 3’s and a 2-of-2 effort from the free-throw line.
Isaiah Benn led Etiwanda with 10 points.
Benn hit a pair of 3-pointers, and he went 4-of-6 from the charity stripe.
Achilles Orji (9) and Sam Funn (8) combined to score 17 points for EHS.
Up next: The Spartans will battle Norte Vista on Monday at 6:30, and they’ll resume league play on Tuesday against their visitors from Upland.
The Eagles host Chino Hills on Tuesday.
