Los Osos didn’t just earn a spot in Saturday’s CIF-SS Division 3 championship game,

The Grizzlies did so in dramatic fashion.

LOHS led 7-6 in the waning moments of Tuesday’s D-3 semifinal at Santa Monica.

The Vikings appeared to score to send the game to overtime.

However, the goal was reversed on a two-meter penalty, and the Grizzlies made the 62-mile drive back to Rancho Cucamonga in the best of moods.

Mike Hale was a brick wall, blocking 22 shots from the goalie position.

Hale also had a pair of steals.

Andres Garcia and Caden Rodriquez scored twice each for LOHS.

Aegis Hsieh, Aidan Mattera and Adam Flores chipped in one goal apiece in the win.

Up next: The Grizzlies will battle ML King on Saturday at Mt. SAC.

The start time has yet to be determined by CIF.

King edged Pasadena Poly, 9-7, in their semifinal round contest.
