Arroyo Seco Royals Fall 5-1 to California Outlaws, & Then Bounce Back & Claim an 8-2 Victory Over San Gabriel Valley Monarchs in Sunday’s Doubleheader

Baseball:

The Arroyo Seco Royals split a doubleheader on Sunday in the final week of the Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League regular season.

The California Outlaws defeated the Royals in game one, but they rebounded in game two and claimed an 8-2 victory over the San Gabriel Valley Monarchs.

Game one notes:

Connor Luetto earned the win by going four scoreless and hitless innings.

Luetto walked one and fanned four Royals’ batters.

Joaquin Salcedo tripled and scored.

Nick Cook singled and tripled.

Alejandro Decreux singled to account for the other Royals’ base hit.

Wyatt Zadoorian was charged with the loss after allowing four runs on six hits over four innings.

Zadoorian issued a pair of walks and struck out three Outlaws.

Luke Viola went 2-for-4 with a run and one RBI.

Aaron Whobrey walked, singled and scored.

Adrian Aviles went 1-for-3 with a walk, double, run and one RBI.

Clay Porter had a pair of singles.

Seth Reker doubled in a run.

Marcus Moyer singled and scored.

Matt Diaz had an RBI single.

Austin Easter walked, scored and drove in a run on a sac fly.

Game two notes:

Cadan Montes earned the win after going five innings and allowing two runs on five hits.

Montes walked four and fanned a pair of Monarchs.

Ivan Barragan walked, singled twice and scored.

Adrian Roman drew a pair of walks, singled and scored.

Landon Lowther went 1-for-2 with an RBI, and Benny Vogel singled once for the SGVM.

Cadin Gates was charged with the loss after allowing a pair of unearned runs on two hits over two innings.

Gates walked one and struck out two Royals’ batters.

Brennan Beckley doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Aden Laureano went 2-for-4 with a run and one RBI.

Nick Cook doubled and drove in three runs.

Anthony Sereno drew two walks and scored.

Blake Beckley singled and scored.

JL Goldman doubled and scored.

Isaiah Figueroa went 2-for-4 with a double, run and one RBI.

Emmanuel Morales singled and scored.

Tommy Villanueva singled and scored two runs.
