Boys Basketball:
Pasadena earned a spot in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 2A playoffs on Friday.
But it didn’t come easy for the top-seeded Bulldogs.
PHS defeated their visitors from Palos Verdes, 55-51, on Wednesday night.
Pasadena got a game-high 19 points from Jovan Jester.
PVHS outscored PHS, 30-29, in the second half.
But Jester would score 16 of his 19 points in the second half to outlast the Sea Kings.
Desmond Every finished with 14 points in the win.
Alex Hassanein led Palos Verdes with 15 points.
Max Sinfield scored 12 points in the loss, and DJ Cicero had 10.
Up next: The Bulldogs will travel to Bishop Amat on Friday.
The Lancers (22-7) defeated Los Altos, 60-41, in their first-round game.
