Boys Soccer:
Maranatha waited 19 long days for this opportunity.
The Minutemen were on the wrong end of a 2-0 game at Whittier Christian back on January the 12th.
Fast forward nearly three weeks, and MHS handed the Heralds a 2-1 loss.
It was only their second setback of the season, and the only loss in Olympic League play.
After spotting WCHS a 1-0 lead on a corner kick, Maranatha got even in the 38th minute.
Miles Romero headed in a corner kick from George Peterson.
In the 72nd minute, Peterson scored what turned out to be the game winner off an assist from Anthony Ter-Matevosian.
Lorenzo Rodriguez had another solid game in goal for MHS. made 1 save.
It was a very happy night for 12 Maranatha seniors in helping the program win an Olympic League title.
Up next: MHS will get its first-round playoffs opponent on Saturday morning at 10:30.
