Girls Tennis:
Claremont entered the third round of Thursday’s Palomares League showdown at Bonita trailing 7-5.
But the Lady Wolfpack would win five of their final six matches to claim a 10-8 victory over the Bearcats.
The CHS doubles, who have been the rock early on in 2023, went 3-0 in the final round, and won 7-of-9 overall.
The No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams of Camila Fernandez-Paige Ruffner, and Nika Cait Crisostomo-Keyra Miao went 6-0 in Thursday’s league win.
Bonita’s Natalie Al-Booz went 3-0 in singles for the Lady Bearcats.
The crucial upset was #2 Claremont singles player: Kaili Hernandez defeating Bonita’s #1: Valerie Tran 6-2.
Both sides were counting games figuring the match would be tied 9-9.
