Baseball:
Rancho Cucamonga won its sixth consecutive game on Tuesday.
And it’s the same old story, the longer the game goes, the more dangerous their bats get.
On Tuesday, RCHS got four runs in the third inning, two in the fourth and three in the fifth to earn a 9-2 victory over Cathedral.
Jacob Billings went the first two innings, didn’t allow a hit or run and struck out four.
Brian Prouty allowed one run on one hit in 2/3 of an inning.
And Justin Hines (pictured below) went 1/3 of an inning and got the win.
Mason Schultz went two innings and allowed an unearned run on one hit.
And Jake Brown closed out the victory, going two scoreless and hitless, and striking out five.
Oscar Soto got the loss.
Soto allowed five runs (two earned) on four hits over his four innings of work.
He walked three and struck out four Cougars’ batters.
Jake Brown went 2-for-4, with an RBI and run scored.
Jayden Lopez walked and scored three runs.
Jacob Billings singled and drove in three runs.
Bradyn France scored twice.
Wilson Dunn walked, singled and drove in a run.
Aaron Whobrey walked, scored and had an RBI.
Jacob McCombs walked and had an RBI.
Ryan Farr walked and scored.
Eddie Rocha singled and scored.
