Baseball:
Jacob Billings had a pretty solid start to his Saturday.
Billings went 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits.
He walked two, struck out seven and earned the victory.
But he wasn’t done there.
Billings also did his damage at the plate, going 4-for-4, with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI.
The Cougars would claim a 5-3 victory at Monrovia in a battle of two very solid programs.
Nicolas Sanchez would secure the save by getting the game’s final four outs, including three via strikeout.
Coleman Mitchell singled and scored and Henry Baker had an RBI base hit for Monrovia.
Sebastian Sanchez walked and scored and Anthony Chiovare singled, scored and drove in a run.
Chantz Powers got the loss for the Wildcats.
The Monrovia senior allowed four runs on nine hits over his 4 1/3 innings of work.
He walked one and struck out four RCHS batters.
Jayden Lopez singled, doubled, scored twice and had an RBI in the win.
Jake Brown singled and doubled.
Bradyn France singled, doubled and drove in two runs.
Wilson Dunn singled and scored.
