Baseball:
After dropping the first of a three-game Baseline League series with Etiwanda on Wednesday, Damien got a big 8-0 victory on Friday.
Seth Sumner had his a-game on Friday.
Sumner went six scoreless innings and scattered four hits.
He didn’t issue a walk and struck out 10.
Of his 81 pitches, Sumner threw 56 for strikes.
Garrett Sinfield went a scoreless seventh, allowing two hits and striking out one.
Armando Briseno had two of tiwanda’s six hits, both of which were singles.
Parker Sobiesiak doubled, and Abraham Zapata, Kaedon Mas and Michai Harrison singled in the loss.
Mason Schultz was struck with the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) over his five-inning outing.
Schultz scattered four hits, walked two and struck out four.
Garrett Mnich was charged with four unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth innings on one hit and two walks.
Justin Dunn walked twice, singled twice, scored and had two RBIs.
Nathan Hellein went 2-for-4, with two RBIs and scored one run.
Jett Hernandez singled and had two RBIs.
Christian Grino walked and scored twice in the win.
