Girls Basketball:
This La Salle team is special.
The Lancers just won their 22nd game in a row.
And it just happened to be in the CIF State Division 3 Southern California Regional Semifinals.
La Salle controlled throughout Saturday’s 52-36 victory over Scripps Ranch.
Audrey Chen’s remarkable sophomore continues to impress, as the Lancers’ guard had a game-high 17 points.
Chen scored 12 of those 17 in the first half, which allowed La Salle to take a 14-point lead into the break.
Ryann Riddle had another solid night with 16 points.
The Lancers converted on 14 of 16 free-throw attempts.
Jacqueline Riddle, Amanda Kramer and Michelle Kramer had eight points apiece to pace the Scripps Ranch offense.
Up next: The Lancers will host Porterville in the So Cal Regional Final on Tuesday night at 6.
The Panthers (29-4), who will make the 166-mile drive to Pasadena, defeated Orcutt Academy, 62-37, on Saturday night.
Quotable:
La Salle coach, Scott Wiard: “I’m so proud of our kids. They have been great in the state playoffs. They have stayed mentally engaged and they love competing. This a group that loves being together and they are cherishing the extra time the state playoffs has afforded us.”
