Girls Soccer:
Brianna Marquez sure left her imprint on Wednesday’s CIF-SS Division 5 second-round showdown at Covina.
The Marshall Fundamental forward scored three goals and had an assist in the Eagles 7-0 road victory.
Marquez scored the game’s first, fourth and sixth goals, and assisted on Sara Hernandez’s score, which gave Marshall a three-goal lead.
Esmeralda Jaquez assisted on the first goal and then she scored to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
After Hernandez extended the lead to 3-0, she assisted on Cadence Fisher’s goal.
Kristina Snowden found the back of the net in the first half, which gave Marshall a 6-0 advantage at the break.
Kaiya Jota blocked three shots in goal.
Up next: The Eagles will travel to Palm Springs on Saturday.
The Indians (10-3) defeated Cerritos, 3-2, on Wednesday.
