Name : Michael Baeza
School : San Dimas
Sport : Football
Grade : Senior
Position : Tight End & Defensive End

Boys Athlete of the Week:

There are a number of reasons why San Dimas is 7-2.

And it’s no secret why the Saints are in a position to secure the Valle Vista League’s No. 2 seed for the upcoming CIF-SS playoffs.

They’ve got a great new coaching staff and the players have bought it and accepted their roles.

At San Dimas, it’s all about ‘we’ and not ‘I.’

However, if there was one guy who does more on both sides of the ball than anyone, it would be two-way senior stud, Michael Baeza.

The 6-foot-3 230-pound Baeza stars at tight end and defensive end for the football team.

And Baeza was a CIF-SS Coastal and Masters champ, and finished top-12 at the CIF State Championships at 215 pounds for the Saints wrestling program this past winter.

In Friday’s 35-10 homecoming victory over visiting Claremont, Baeza was the center of attention.

He had a pair of 1-yard TD runs and a 70-yard TD catch from SDHS sophomore quarterback, Kris Saris.

On multiple plays, it took two, three or even four Wolfpack to finally take Baeza down.

He rushed for eight yards on four carries, and totaled four receptions for 120 yards, including the long TD.

On defense, he had five tackles, which was second best to Adam Damato’s 12 tackles.

And he led the way with 2.5 sacks.

For the season, Baeza has 26 receptions for 474 yards, and he’s got seven of San Dimas’ eight receiving TDs.

Defensively, he’s third to Damato (71) and Liam Loyla (51) with 49 tackles, and he leads San Dimas with 5.5 sacks in spite of seemingly being held throughout by SDHS opponents on Friday nights.

Up next: San Dimas will host Los Osos on Friday.

The Grizzlies (2-7, 1-3) only two wins have come against Sultana and Diamond Ranch, who are a combined 1-17.

LOHS has been outscored 290-120 in 2026.
