The youngest coach in the San Gabriel Valley, 25-year-old Dylan O’Leary, has San Dimas 3-0 after a week-two victory at Colony.
The Saints secured a 12-0 victory on Thursday evening in Ontario.
On the game’s opening drive, SDHS faced a 4th-and-10 scenario.
O’Leary decided to go for it, and on the 16th play of the drive, sophomore quarterback Kris Saris tossed a 30-yard TD pass to Michael Baeza.
Matthew Witherby’s 32-yard field goal in the second quarter gave San Dimas a 10-0 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Colony had a bad snap that the Titans kicker purposely booted out of the back of the end zone for a safety.
In the last two weeks, the SDHS defense has surrendered just eight points, which came on the last play of the 43-8 week-one victory at Chaffey High School.
Saris completed 8-of-19 for 116 yards.
He also had three carries for five yards.
Jacob Gallegos led the Saints ground game with 68 yards on 21 carries.
Baeza totaled four receptions for 72 yards, including the lone TD of the night.
Gallegos caught two passes for 27 yards.
Cash Jones had a 14-yard reception.
Up next: The Saints will battle Bonita next Friday at Mt. SAC in the annual Smudge Pot rivalry game.
Since four-time CIF-SS champion Steve Bogan took over the reins at BHS, the Bearcats have won the last seven games against the Saints.
The last time San Dimas claimed victory (2017), first-year coach Dylan O’Leary was the quarterback at SDHS.
