JJ Wilson Goes Six Scoreless, Allowing One Hit & Striking Out Four in San Marino’s 3-0 Rio Hondo League Victory Over La Canada

San Marino is creeping ever so near to Monrovia in the Rio Hondo League title chase.

The Titans shut out visiting La Canada, 3-0, on Monday.

SMHS improved to 4-1 in RHL games, as compared to 6-1 for MHS.

And the Titans and Wildcats meet up next Monday and Thursday.

But back to Monday’s win over South Pasadena.

JJ Wilson went six scoreless innings and only allowed one hit to earn the win.

Wilson walked three and struck out four LCHS batters.

Tomas Bilvado retired the side in the seventh to earn the save, and that included one strikeout.

Finn Flowerhogan’s double to lead off the top of the fourth inning was the lone hit of the day for the Tigers.

Cash Carroll got the loss after surrendering three runs (one earned) on three hits over five innings.

Carroll walked two and fanned six SMHS batters.

Fritz Phillips provided one scoreless inning in relief, and he struck out one.

Chase Mena had an RBI double in the bottom of the first inning, and an RBI single in the sixth.

Miles Morning’s sac fly in the sixth extended the Titans lead to 3-0.

JJ Wilson helped his own cause with a double and one run scored.

Parker Wilson singled and scored.

Bilvado drew a pair of walks and scored.

Up next: The Spartans host the Wildcats on Thursday at 3:30.
