Lacrosse:
What a difference 10 days has made.
On March 3rd, Damien took a 14-3 beatdown at the hands of Linfield Christian in the Ivy League opener for both programs.
Fast forward 10 days, and Damien finds itself 3-1 in league games and they sit one-game back of first place Linfield Christian.
It started with an 11-2 victory over Heritage.
This past week, the Spartans secured 4-3 victory at Riverside Poly in overtime.
DHS finished the week with a 6-5 triumph of Liberty.
The Bison led 2-0 after the first period, and they took a 3-2 advantage into the break.
However, Damien would close out the win on a 4-2 run in the second half.
Kei Romo scored both goals in the first half for DHS.
DHS got second-half goals from Riley Africa, Kevin Anabi, Aiden Riddall and Dominic Verdi’s fourth-quarter score ended up being the game winning goal.
Nicklas Frame had 19 saves in goal.
Kei Romo (13) and Michael St. Onge (6) combined for 19 ground balls.
Josef Bae led Liberty with three goals.
Kyle Bolo had 17 saves for the Bison.
Up next: The Spartans travel to Paloma Valley on Monday night at 6:30.
