College Baseball:
For the second consecutive week, Chaffey College opened an IEAC series with a disappointing loss.
And for the second week in a row, the Panthers secured a conference series, 2-1.
On Saturday, Chaffey pounded out a 15-0 victory over Victor Valley.
The Panthers out-hit the Rams, 16-2.
Three Chaffey pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout.
Joe O’Regan went five scoreless innings and allowed just one hit to earn the win.
O’Regan walked one and fanned six.
Michael Moses and Seth Wrightstone provided two scoreless and hitless innings in relief apiece.
Moses (2) and Wrightstone (3) combined to strike out five VV batters.
Eric Logsdon and Luke Cross had one single apiece to account for the Rams offense.
Zachary Viramontes got the loss after allowing seven runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings.
Viramontes issued four walks and registered two strikeouts.
Eric Valdivia went 4-for-5 with a double and four RBIs.
Joe Gilkeson hit a grand slam.
Jaden St. Cyr went 3-for-6 with two runs and three RBIs.
Ryder Young walked, singled three times, drove in one and scored three runs.
Austin Easter walked, singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Kaden Durazo singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in one run.
AJ Hurtado walked and scored a pair of runs.
Cameron Casado walked and scored.
Ryan Melton drew a pair of walks, singled, drove in one and scored twice.
Up next: The Panthers travel to SBVC on Tuesday at 2 to open a three-game IEAC set.
