Favian Vazquez Tosses Six-Hit Shutout & Strikes Out Three in Chino Hills’ 1-0 Baseline League Victory at Rancho Cucamonga

Chino Hills opened Baseline League play 0-3-1.

Fast forward a couple of weeks, and the Huskies currently reside in the league’s No. 3 spot.

CHHS claimed its three-game series (two games to one) with Rancho Cucamonga after Friday’s 1-0 victory at RCHS.

The series featured a combined seven total runs.

Favian Vazquez tossed a six-hit shutout.

He didn’t issue a walk and fanned three RCHS batters.

Braden Longo had a pair of singles, while Mason Pheng, Jacob Peyton, Derek Almeda and Dustin Yela had one base hit apiece for the Cougars.

Peyton got the loss in spite of surrendering just one run on three hits over five innings.

Peyton didn’t issue a walk and he registered seven strikeouts.

Josh Mendez walked and his RBI single in the second inning was all Vazquez needed.

Brody Buoncristiani singled and scored.

Vazquez went 2-for-4.

Jackson Gray had one single for CHHS.
