Rio Hondo Prep cruised to a 12-1 victory at Bosco Tech on Friday.
RHP out-hit BT, 8-2, in their nonleague contest.
The Kares hope to gain some momentum from the blowout, as the second half of Prep League play gets underway this coming week.
Joshua Taflinger earned the win, going six strong innings and allowing one run on two hits.
Taflinger issued one walk and struck out seven Bosco Tech batters.
David Gomez drew a fifth-inning walk, and he’d eventually score on an Adam Velasquez single.
Dominic Hernandez singled to account for the other Tigers hit.
Matthew Lopez went five innings and got the loss after allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks.
Nate Curtis went 2-for-4, with a walk, two runs and an RBI.
Taflinger helped his own cause with two walks and an RBI single.
Brayden Vinton singled and had an RBI.
Diego Householder singled, scored three runs and drove in one.
Nathaniel Shine walked and scored a pair of runs.
Easton Jara singled and scored.
Noah Penunuri and Yanick Diaz singled, scored and had one RBI apiece.
Ivan Tkach scored and had one RBI.
Calogero Chico walked and scored.
Up next: The Kares hope to earn Prep League victory No. 1, as they host Flintridge Prep (5-7, 3-2) on Tuesday in the first of a three-game series with the Wolves.
