Baseball:
Charter Oak held serve and remained unbeaten with one week to play.
The Chargers cruised to a 9-0 VVL victory at West Covina.
With two games to play, unbeaten (in league) San Dimas and Charter Oak will face off twice next week, and with everything on the line.
Anthony Vasquez went six scoreless innings and allowed just three hits.
Vasquez walked three and struck out eight West Covina batters.
Jacob Gonzalez got the final three outs, including two via strikeout.
Tony Macon, Aleksander Gavaghan and Austin Nguyen had one hit apiece for the Bulldogs.
Maximilian Murillo got the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) on nine hits over his 4 1/3 innings.
Murillo issued a pair of walks and fanned six COHS batters.
Athen Malone singled twice, homered and drove in a pair of runs.
Diego Ortiz went 5-for-5 with a double, run and two RBIs.
Vasquez helped his own cause with three hits, a run and two RBIs.
Moses Medrano singled, scored and had an RBI.
Julian Salmon had an RBI base hit.
Josiah Martinez went 2-for-3 and scored a pair of runs.
