Northview Pounds Out 21-2 Valle Vista League Victory at Covina in 5 Innings; Vikings Out-Hit Colts, 21-3, on Tuesday

Sooner or later, you had to think Northview had too much talent not to see their bats come to life.

In 11 losses thus far, NHS scored two or less runs, including being shut out four times.

Fast forward to last week, and Northview has gone 3-1 and outscored their opponents by a combined margin of 45-9.

On Tuesday, NHS claimed its first Valle Vista League win of 2023 with a 21-2 beatdown at Covina.

The Vikings out-hit the Colts, 21-3.

Jaime Lopez was touched up for five runs (four earned) on six hits over 1 1/3 innings.

Brandon Chavez surrendered six runs on eight hits and two walks in two innings.

And Ryan Sarver allowed eight runs on four hits and four walks in just 2/3 of an inning.

Joey Ramos went 4-for-4 and scored four runs.

Dean Curley walked, singled, doubled and drove in five runs.

Nathan Tome walked, singled twice, drove in three and scored a pair of runs.

Justin Hernandez singled, doubled, scored four runs and had one RBI.

Isaac Nava singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored three times.

Josh Sanchez walked twice, had two singles, three RBIs and scored three runs.

Sal Batres went 2-for-4 and scored.

Jacob Ramos went four innings to earn the win.

He surrendered a pair of unearned runs on two hits.

Ramos walked one and struck out seven Covina batters.

Jesse Hernandez singled and drove in a run.

David Lopez singled and scored.

And Jaime Lopez singled to account for the third CHS base hit.
