Baseball:
San Dimas handed their crosstown rivals its first loss of the 2023 season.
The Saints edged visiting Bonita, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.
Kody King tossed a two-hit shutout for SDHS.
He walked three and fanned nine.
King needed 106 pitches to finish what he started.
Jared Brunk and Daniel Munoz had one hit apiece to account for the Bonita offense.
Garrett Patterson was the tough-luck loser for the Bearcats.
Patterson allowed an unearned run on three hits over his six innings of work.
He walked two and struck out seven.
A Landon White doubled and an error in the outfield allowed the Saints to score a third-inning run, and King would make that stand up.
Vaughn Coleman singled and scored, and Kasen Khansarinia was SDHS’ third hit of the game.
Up next: San Dimas and Bonita will both be in action on Wednesday.
The Saints host Calabasas and the Bearcats do battle with La Mirada in tournament play.
