PCC’s Historic 2022 Season Concluded w/Eight Players Moving on to Next Level; Lancers’ 28 Wins Most Since the 1960’s

There is only one thing PCC coach Pat McGee likes more than winning.

And that’s getting his student-athletes to the next level when their days at Pasadena City College are through.

In 2022, the Lancers won 28 games, which was their highest total since the 1960’s and they did so after not having played since March of 2020.

Three of the eight Lancers that moved on were freshman, including Raider Tello, who had a record-breaking rookie year.

Tello ‘s 77 hits, 53 RBIs and 19 doubles were all single-season records.

Just below, you’ll see the 2022 or career stats of each player that has a home in 2023.

Raider Tello, University of Iowa:

Tello batted .403 in 2022, with 77 hits, 42 runs, 53 RBIs, 19 doubles, one triple and eight home runs.

Max Blessinger, Belmont University:

Blessinger batted .362 in 2022, with 67 hits, 53 runs, 48 RBIs, 14 doubles, one triple and five home runs.

Benny Olguin, Cal State San Bernardino:

Olguin finished his career 10-5 with two saves and a 3.53 ERA. He walked 57 and struck out 122 batters in 130 IP.

Ryan Graves, Cal State San Bernardino:

Graves went 5-3 in his career with a 3.69 ERA. He walked 17 and fanned 53 in 85 1/3 innings pitched.

Andrew Scannell, Biola:

In two years, Scannell batted .266 with 71 career hits, 40 runs, 46 RBIs, five doubles and four triples.

Chase Pedersen, University of La Verne:

Pedersen was 1-5 in two years with a 9.10 ERA. He walked 20 and struck out 30 batters in 15 IP.

Hayden Zweig, University of Colorado Springs:

Zweig was 0-1, with a 9.90 ERA. He walked 11 and struck out 15 batters in 10 innings.

Collin Johnson, Cal State University:

Johnson batted .385 with 10 hits, five runs, seven RBIs and two doubles.
