Loyola Rallies for 8-6 Victory at Alemany; Cubs Finish Fourth in Mission League After Successful 2022 Season

Loyola finished out the regular season with an 8-6 victory at Alemany.

The Cubs tripled their Mission League win total from a year ago, and finished in fourth place.

The Cubs got five runs (four earned) on 10 hits against Jacob Ortega.

And Adonis Jenkins was saddled with the loss.

Jenkins surrendered two runs on one hit and a pair of walks.

Adam Magpoc went 4-for-4, with three singles, a double, an RBI and scored one run.

Luca DiPaolo walked, singled, hit a two-run HR and drove in four runs.

Tino Valdez walked, singled and scored twice.

Carson Chavez and Walter Urbon singled and had one RBI apiece.

Jackson Shea singled and scored.

Alex Orman walked and had two singles in the win.

James Dell’Amico walked and scored.

Loyola’s Nathan Savarese went five innings and allowed four runs on eight hits.

Savarese didn’t issue a walk and fanned one.

Donnie Morgan allowed two runs on one hit in his one inning of work.

And Tino Valdez earned the save with a hitless and scoreless inning in relief.

Valdez walked one and struck out a pair of Alemany batters.

Nate Lopez singled, scored and drove in three runs.

James Quintero singled three times and scored.

James Zermeno doubled and scored.

Adrian Chaidez walked, singled twice, scored and drove in a pair of runs.

Loyola hopes to get an at-large bid when the CIF-SS pairings come out on Monday.
