Monrovia Clinches Rio Hondo League Championship; Wildcats Defeat Visiting South Pasadena, 6-1, on Wednesday

Monrovia will remain in the Rio Hondo League penthouse for at least another year.

The Wildcats picked up a 6-1 victory over visiting South Pasadena.

Andrew Primucci got the win after going 4 2/3 innings and allowing one run on three hits.

Primucci walked two and struck out one South Pasadena batter.

Donovan Lorenzini got the final seven outs without any damage.

Lorenzini allowed one hit, didn’t issue a walk and fanned one.

Luke Riffle singled and drove in a run.

Owen Woodworth got the loss, allowing two unearned runs on two hits.

Woodworth went 1 1/3 innings, didn’t walk or strike anyone out.

Anthony Chiovare singled twice, scored and had an RBI.

Noah Rodriguez had an RBI single and Dario Camera singled and scored.

Ryan Oliva doubled and scored two runs.

Jack Zinn singled and scored.

Michael Castelli had an RBI single.

Shane Petersen drove in a run on a sac fly.

Noah Ellison walked, scored and had an RBI.

Up next: Monrovia will head to La Canada today (Thursday) to close out the regular season.
