Baseball:
Heading into Tuesday’s Prep League game at Providence, Pasadena Poly and Rio Hondo Prep were tied for second in the league standings.
The Kares rallied to defeat Chadwick, 10-6, and Panthers’ junior, Adam Arther, was going to make sure Poly didn’t lose any ground.
Arther threw a no-hitter in a 5-0 road victory.
He walked two and struck out 11 Providence batters.
Of the 91 pitches he threw, 55 were strikes.
Sutton Frost went 3 2/3 innings and got the loss.
Sam Howell had an RBI double.
Max Alsoufiev walked, singled twice and tripled.
Sean Asperger walked, singled twice and had one RBI.
Arther singled and scored.

I first thought about the no-hitter after my last at-bat in the seventh. I knew what was going on, but I didn’t really think about it until I sat back down in the dugout. I feel like we’re playing our best baseball. After the La Salle game, we’ve been rolling and it feels like we’re peaking at the right time. I feel great and am confident that we’re capable of making a deep run into the playoffs this year.”
