Maranatha Shuts Out Village Christian, 8-0, in Olympic League Action; Minutemen Pick Up 20th Win of Season

Maranatha continued its dominance in Olympic League play on Tuesday.

The Minutemen saw two of their pitchers team up on a three-hit shutout.

MHS scored four runs in the top of the first inning and cruised to an 8-0 victory at Village Christian.

Zach Strickland went four scoreless and hitless innings to earn the win.

Strickland walked two and struck out seven.

Jacob Yun closed out the victory with three scoreless innings of his own.

Yun allowed three hits, he didn’t issue a walk and fanned three.

Cade Nightingale, Evan Kang and Cole Cacho-Negrete had one single apiece to account for the Village Christian offense.

Evan Kang was saddled with the loss, allowing eight runs (three earned) on eights hits.

Kang went five innings, walked two and fanned a pair of Minutemen batters.

Mike Ebner singled, doubled and scored two runs.

Adrian Lopez singled, doubled, had an RBI and scored twice.

Cider Canon singled, scored and had an RBI.

Nick Cook and Issac Ton singled and scored one run apiece.

Dylan Zdunek walked and scored.

Angelo Aleman had an RBI on a sac fly.

Up next: MHS will close out the regular season tonight (Wednesday), as they host Village Christian at 6.
