Monrovia Nearing Second Consecutive Rio Hondo League Title; Wildcats Blew Out San Marino, 12-2, on Friday

Monrovia is just one win away from claiming a second consecutive Rio Hondo League championship.

The Wildcats defeated San Marino, 12-2, on Friday.

Donovan Lorenzini went five scoreless innings to earn the win.

Lorenzini allowed two hits, walked one and fanned four San Marino batters.

Brendan Long singled twice and scored for the Titans.

Jay Bell had an RBI single and Jack Lovelock singled and scored.

Monrovia got five runs on four hits and two walks off of Coleman Morning, and five more against Truman Koch on six hits and a walk.

Shane Petersen singled, tripled, scored twice and had a game-high four RBIs.

Noah Rodriguez doubled and had two RBIs.

Jack Zinn singled, doubled, drove in two and scored twice.

Michael Castelli singled, doubled, scored and had an RBI.

Andrew Primucci had an RBI single.

Tyler Mitchell singled twice and scored.

Ryan Oliva singled and scored a pair of runs.

Jacob Calnon, Jared Cardenas and Noah Ellison scored one run apiece.

Dario Camera and Noah Rodriguez both drove in a run on a sac fly.

Up next: The Wildcats will host second-place South Pasadena on Wednesday.
