Baseball:
Braydon Wooldridge had one last shot at beating Ayala on Thursday.
The Bulldogs entered the contest having won 10 consecutive games against the Tartans.
Wooldridge, though, put the Tartans on his back in a 7-1, Palomares League victory.
He went six innings and allowed a pair of unearned runs on four hits.
Wooldridge walked one, fanned nine and 64 of his 96 pitches were strikes.
Enrique Ibanez doubled and scored, and Ty Borgogno walked and scored for the Bulldogs.
Vinny Hudson singled twice, and Anthony Hernandez walked and singled in the loss.
Daniel Camou got the loss, allowing six runs (four earned) on five hits.
Camou went 1 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out a pair of GHS batters.
Wooldridge did his part at the plate, going 3-for-4, with a double, scored twice and had two RBIs.
Aaron Jacobsen, who was brought up a couple weeks ago from the freshman squad, walked, and his two-run single gave Glendora an early 2-0 lead.
From all reports, Jacobsen is going to terrorize opposing pitchers over the next three years, and he’s already making a terrific impression amongst his teammates.
Brady Baeza singled twice and scored.
Joseph Gilkeson walked, singled and scored.
Troy Estrada singled, scored and had an RBI.
Michael Moses singled, doubled and drove in a run.
Matt Moreno walked and scored.
Brandon Kiesendahl walked twice and scored.
