Well, that was pretty impressive.
South Hills, ranked fourth in the most recent CIF-SS Division 2 poll, dominated the top-ranked program in Division 3.
The Huskies picked up a 12-2 victory over La Quinta.
Matt Lorenzano went three scoreless innings to earn the win.
He allowed three hits, walked one and struck out three.
Athen Malone provided two scoreless innings of relief and Evan Zesati went one perfect inning of relief.
Aiden Arriaga singled twice and drove in both La Quinta runs.
Brandon Leon doubled and scored.
South Hills got five runs on six hits off Dylan Nelson, four from Max Mora on four hits, and three off of Jordan Watson on one hit and four walks.
Paul Vazquez singled three times, tripled, scored three runs and drove in a game-high five runs.
Gilbert Morales homered in the second inning and had three RBIs.
Kai Panuelas homered and drove in a pair of runs.
Andrew Ramirez singled and scored three runs.
Marcos Rosales singled, doubled, scored three runs and had one RBI.
Andres Mitat had an RBI single in Saturday’s win.
Up next: South Hills will host Rowland on Tuesday.
