Chino Hills Out-Hit Etiwanda, 10-5, But First-Place Eagles Claim 4-2 Victory in 10 Innings

When it comes to Baseline League play, there are no free wins.

First place Etiwanda scored a pair of runs in the top of the 10th inning to defeat last-place Chino Hills, 4-2, on Wednesday.

The Eagles got five innings apiece from Dylan Goff and Yahir Ramirez.

Goff allowed single runs in the second and fourth innings, and surrendered just two hits.

He walked four and fanned five CHHS batters.

Ramirez went five scoreless, scattered three hits and struck out three to earn the win.

Cole Nachreiner doubled and had an RBI.

Dillon Anderson singled and scored for the Huskies.

Jessie Mendoza walked and singled twice for Chino Hills.

Zane Poulter got the loss after allowing two hits and two walks in one-plus inning of work.

Brady Ebel walked twice, singled, homered and scored twice.

Kaedon Mas had an RBI single in the top of the 10th inning.

Tyler McEvoy’s RBI ground out gave the Eagles a 4-2 lead.

Abraham Zapata drove in a run on a sac fly in the sixth inning.

Up next: Etiwanda will host Chino Hills on Friday.
