Upland made things even more interesting in the Baseline League title chase.

After its 2-0 victory over Rancho Cucamonga on Monday, the top four teams in league are separated by just one game.

Two Highlanders’ pitchers combined to silence the Cougars bats in a 2-0 victory.

Joe O’Regan earned the win, going five scoreless innings and scattering three hits.

O’Regan walked two and fanned six RCHS batters.

Austin Baldon secured the win with two scoreless innings of relief.

Baldon allowed one hit, didn’t issue a walk and struck out two to earn the save.

Jacob McCombs, Owen Dunn, Joshua Almeda and Wilson Dunn had one single apiece to account for the RCHS offense.

James Rivera got the loss, allowing just two runs on six hits over his five innings on Monday.

He walked four and struck out four Upland batters.

Martin Hernandez singled three times and scored both runs for Upland.

Gabriel Smith singled and drove in a run.
