Mt. SAC Picks Up 8-6, SCC Victory at ELAC; Mounties Have Won 14 of Last 15 Games

College Baseball:

Mt. SAC picked up its third consecutive victory on Saturday, and the Mounties have gone 14-1 over their last 15 games.

After starting SCC play on a strong note, ELAC has gone into the tank, which includes six consecutive conference losses.

Mt. Sac and PCC sit atop the SCC standings, while LBCC and El Camino are just one-game back of the Mounties and Lancers.

MSAC secured a three-game sweep after Saturday’s 8-6 victory at ELAC.

Francisco Dominguez got the loss, allowing seven runs on 13 hits over his 6 2/3 innings.

He walked two and fanned six Mt. SAC batters.

Brent Cota walked, singled three times and scored.

Will Bermudez singled, doubled, scored and drove in a run.

CJ Ontiveros singled twice, doubled, scored two runs and had one RBI.

Elijah Pelayo singled, doubled and drove in three runs.

Nin Burns went 2-for-5, with an RBI.

Damien Delgadillo had two singles, an RBI and run scored.

Cristian Enriquez and Blake Borgogno singled and scored one run each.

Alec Beck went four innings, allowing just one run on three hits.

The Mounties freshman walked two and fanned one.

Trent Merrill provided 3 1/3 innings of relief and allowed two runs on three hits.

Merrill didn’t issue a walk and had one strikeout.

Former Arcadia star, Michael Easter, went 2-for-5, with two runs scored and a pair of RBIs.

Isaiah Lopez Del Haro singled, doubled, scored and drove in one run.

Jayden Solorio and Eduardo Sanchez singled and scored one run each.

Juan Guardado walked and had an RBI double.

Ruben Hernandez singled twice and scored.

Alex Mendez went 2-for-5, with an RBI.

Up next: Mt. SAC travels to Citrus College on Tuesday afternoon.
