Baseball:
The Palomares League baseball chase is both entertaining and competitive.
On Thursday, Ayala fell behind 5-0 in the top of the first inning, but the Bulldogs scored single runs in the bottom of the seventh and ninth innings to claim a 6-5 victory over Alta Loma.
As mentioned, the Braves got five first-inning run off Caidin Gates, who lasted just 2/3 of an inning.
Gates surrendered five hits and a walk.
Bryan Yang and Daniel Camou teamed up to go the final 8 1/3 innings without allowing a run.
Yang allowed two hits, walked three and fanned four, and Camou surrendered just one hit, didn’t issue a walk and struck out five.
Daniel Martinez singled and drove in two runs for Alta Loma.
Alexander Erickson walked twice, singled and scored.
Seth Reker singled twice and had an RBI.
Morales singled, scored and drove in one run.
Ian Wolski went 2-for-5.
Dylan Corona scored and had an RBI, Dakodah Kinsley walked and scored, and Eric Boen scored once.
Dominic Paris went five innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits.
Paris walked two and struck out a pair of Ayala batters.
Jaxson Hall would go three-plus innings, and allowed two runs on two hits.
Hall walked two and struck out one.
Ethan Nunez singled, doubled, homered and scored three runs.
Anthony Hernandez walked, singled twice and scored, and Marcus Galvan singled and scored.
Jake Lemoine doubled twice and had two RBIs.
Anthony Dominguez singled and drove in a pair of runs.
Randy Limon walked and scored the game winner on a wild pitch.
