Year in and year out, San Dimas and South Hills are two of the San Gabriel Valley’s premier programs.
And 2022 is no different.
On Wednesday, the Saints defeated the Huskies, 6-1, in tournament play.
Jacob Becerra went the distance and allowed just an unearned run on six hits to earn the win.
Becerra walked one and fanned four South Hills batters.
Jeremiah Sibrian singled twice for the Huskies.
Andres Mitat singled twice and drove in a run.
Kai Panuelas scored once on Wednesday.
Gilbert Morales walked and singled.
Luke Bauer had one single in the loss.
San Dimas handed South Hills ace Matt Lorenzano his first setback of 2022.
Lorenzano went 6 2/3 innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits.
The Huskies’ senior walked two and struck out three SDHS batters.
Kasen Khansarinia doubled and scored.
Landon White singled, scored and drove in a run.
Ayden Garcia walked, singled twice, doubled and scored two runs.
Jake Ferretti doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Rocco Regan singled twice and had an RBI.
Ryder Young had an RBI and scored once.
Up next: South Hills will battle El Dorado today (Thursday) at 1.
San Dimas will also be in action today with an opponent to be determined.
