Things looked good early on.
St. Francis had a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning of Tuesday’s Mission League showdown at first-place Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks.
The Knights, however, got seven runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, and cruised to a 14-5 victory.
Seven St. Francis errors cost them 14 unearned runs.
It was the Golden Knights fourth consecutive league loss, but they remain one-game ahead of last-place Alemany.
Justin Lee got the win after five innings of work.
Lee surrendered two runs on three hits.
He walked three and struck out a pair of SFHS batters.
Simon Lee singled, doubled and drove in three runs.
Luke Fogarty doubled and scored twice for St. Francis.
Brody Ruyle and Jordan Lewallen singled and had one RBI each.
Notre Dame got seven unearned runs apiece off Joe Krasnowski and Luke Fogarty.
Krasnowski walked two and struck out one, and Fogarty issued four walks and fanned three Knights’ batters.
Jack Gurevitch singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in three runs.
Jackson Frankovich doubled, scored and had two RBIs.
Brandon Gonzaga singled twice, scored a pair of runs and had one RBI for the Knights.
Up next: St. Francis and Notre Dame will meet up Wednesday afternoon at the Glendale Sports Complex.
