Girls Wrestling:
It’s been a great week for the Northview girls wrestling program.
On Wednesday, the Lady Vikings won the CIF-SS Division 1 championship, defeating Corona, 42-30.
Three days later, Northview won seven individual Valle Vista League titles.
Alexis Garza, Samantha Rivera, Leilani Lazaro, Mia Sanchez, Leticia Sanchez, Andrea Mateo and Savannah Lewis all earned championship status on Saturday.
San Dimas had five title winners, including Cameron Ortiz, Juliana Marquez, Jenae Acero and Charlene Smith joined Esperanza Dorantes, who became the first four-time VVL champ in program history.
The following lists the first, second and third place wrestlers, who have all earned their spot at next weekend’s CIF-SS individuals.

San Dimas coach, Jesse Jaime: “Espi has been the prime example of a San Dimas Lady Saint Wrestler. She’s hungry and determined for success, but always humble in victory or defeat. She’s a four-year letterman, regional champion and the first San Dimas Lady Saint wrestler to become a four-time Valle Vista League Champion. Our team was hit hard by COVID-19, but we’ve rebounded strong. We are led by seniors Cameron Ortiz and Jenae Acero, along with Dorantes, we look forward to making some noise at CIF. Freshman Juliana Marquez and Charlene Smith have built themselves an identity for people to look out for in the years to come, and they have a great shot at winning titles at CIF, along with our three seniors. All of our girls work extremely hard day after day, and will battle their way one match at a time through the postseason.”
