Desi Lopez Throws Five-Inning No-Hitter in PHS’ 13-0 Victory Over Muir; Bulldogs Pick Up 2-Game Sweep of Mustangs

Baseball:

Pasadena ended its 2021 season on a high note.

The Bulldogs picked up a two-game, Pacific League sweep of rival Muir, and did so by a combined margin of 20-6.

And to put the exclamation mark on the sweep, PHS senior Desi Lopez threw a five-inning no-hitter in Friday’s 13-0, mercy-rule victory.

Lopez walked one, struck out three and got the job done in 55 pitches.

Jaime Caldera got the loss.

Caldera surrendered five runs (four earned) on six hits.

He walked one and struck out a pair of PHS batters over his two innings of work.

Mateo Galvez went 2-for-3, scored three runs and had three RBIs.

Jesus Zuniga singled and scored.

Xander Inguanzo walked, singled, drove in two runs and scored twice.

Michael Gonzalez singled, scored and had three RBIs.

Jaxon Bacon walked twice, singled, scored two runs and had an RBI.

Desi Lopez helped his own cause, with a single and run scored.

Owen Baugham walked, doubled, drove in three runs and scored.

Jackson Stuart walked twice, scored two runs and had one RBI.
