Monrovia Finishes Regular Season on High Note; RHL Champs Hammer Temple City, 13-0, in Five Innings

Monrovia didn’t just close out the regular season and their outright Rio Hondo League title with a two-game sweep of Temple City, they dropped the wood on the Rams.

Two days after a 10-0 home victory, the Wildcats secured a 13-0 win at Temple City in five innings.

Chantz Powers got the win after going two scoreless innings.

Powers allowed one hit, didn’t walk anyone and struck out two Rams’ batters.

Powers also went 2-for-3 at the plate, with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs.

Matthew Delgado walked, singled, doubled, scored and had two RBIs.

Shane Petersen walked, doubled, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Coleman Mitchell singled, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Anthony Chiovare doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice.

Henry Baker walked, doubled, stole a base, scored and had an RBI.

Nathan Thompson doubled and had two RBIs.
