Baseball:

If you’re watching from the outside, Marshall Fundamental claiming a 3-2, Mission Valley League victory over Mountain View might not seem like much.

But it means a lot to the Eagles, because had they fallen on Wednesday, Marshall Fundamental would have entered the CIF-SS playoffs on a three-game losing streak.

The Eagles got four solid innings from Wes Pendleton, who allowed one run on two hits.

He walked one and struck out three.

Sam Karp went the final three innings and was credited with the win after MF got a run in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-2 lead.

Karp walked one and struck out one MVHS batter.

Victor Galindo singled and scored, and Marco Augilar had an RBI base hit for the Vikings.

Galindo went all six innings for the visitors and was charged with three runs on nine hits.

He walked one and struck out three Marshall Fundamental batters.

Jacob Hernandez went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

Ethan Meyers singled twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Tylr Kennedy had an RBI base hit in the win.

Devan Kelly, Sam Karp and Travis Delgado had one single each and Alex Chew doubled.

Nick Chew walked and scored for the MVL champs.
