Baseball:
Etiwanda got five solid innings from starter Landon Milius on Wednesday.
He allowed just two runs (one earned) on five hits in the Eagles’ 12-5, Baseline League victory over Upland.
Milius walked one and fanned a pair of Highlanders’ batters.
The Etiwanda bats did the job as well, pounding out 18 hits, seven of which were of the extra-base variety.
Armando Briseno walked, singled, homered twice, scored three runs and drove in four.
Abraham Zapata doubled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice.
Austen Roellig singled, doubled and scored and Erick Villareal walked three times and scored twice.
Jack Holman walked twice, singled, doubled, scored two runs and had an RBI.
Carlos Ramirez went 2-for-4, with an RBI, and Geo Mejia had an RBI base hit.
Zabian Nila singled and hit a solo shot.
Ryan Scoles chipped in with an RBI base hit.
Up next: The Eagles will travel to Upland on Friday in the hopes of earning a three-game sweep over the Highlanders.
