Crespi Scores Six Runs in Top of 7th to Defeat St. Francis, 8-1, in Wednesday’s Mission League Contest

Baseball:

St. Francis lost its seventh consecutive game on Wednesday.

Crespi held a slim 2-1 lead after six innings.

But the Celts would score six times in the top of the seventh and claimed an 8-1 victory.

The Golden Knights have four games to go (one w/Crespi & three w/Chaminade) and hope to work their way out of the league basement.

Tyler Grenn got the win, going six innings and allowing one run on five hits.

He walked two and struck out six Golden Knights’ batters.

Luke Fogarty singled twice and had an RBI and Lucas Dixon singled and scored for SFHS.

Ethan Sanders got the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits over his six innings of work.

Sanders walked one and struck out a pair of Celts’ batters.

Jackson Benattar hit SFHS with his best shot, going 4-for-4, with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs.

Grenn helped his own cause with an RBI and run scored.

Up next: SFHS will travel to Crespi on Saturday morning to complete the three-game set.

First pitch is set for 10 a.m.
