Baseball:

David Mysza looks like a freshman.

And he is a freshman.

But if you’ve ever seen him play on a football or baseball field, there is nothing in his game that resembles a ninth grader.

On Monday, Mysza threw a seven-hit shutout, as La Salle earned a 5-0 victory at St. Paul.

He walked one and struck out five.

Sean Garcia went the distance for the Swordsmen and  he was stuck with the loss.

Garcia allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits.

He walked three and struck out four LSHS batters.

Mysza also did some damage with his bat, going 2-f0r-4, with a double and three runs scored.

Val Gomez had three singles and three RBIs.

Andrew Boecking walked twice and scored a pair of runs.

Evan Nahra, Bradley Zantenson and Jaden Guzman had one hit apiece.

Doug Pyle had an RBI in the victory.

Up next: The Lancers and Swordsmen will meet up Thursday and Saturday at St. Paul to finish out their three-game series.
