Davis Cornwell threw a two-hit shutout on Saturday in Maranatha’s 3-0 victory over Summit at Brookside Park.
Cornwell needed just 73 pitches to get the job done.
He walked one and struck out one Summit batter.
Yahir Sotomayor got the loss.
Sotomayor was charged with three runs on six hits over his six-inning performance.
He didn’t walk anyone and struck out two MHS batters.
Will Allen tripled, homered and scored a pair of runs.
Daniel Ruiz had an RBI triple and Mikey Ebner singled home a run for the Minutemen.
Adrian Lopez singled and scored.
Up next: Maranatha will host Southwestern Academy on Monday at 5.
