Baseball:
There was no drama this week for Northview.
The Vikings were supposed to hammer winless Diamond Ranch in a two-game series and they did that.
On Wednesday, NHS earned a 15-0 victory and 48 hours later, the Vikings shut out the Panthers, 11-0.
Sal Batres got the win, going three scoreless innings and allowing two hits, walking two and fanning a pair of DRHS batters.
Andrew Granados provided two scoreless and hitless innings of relief and got four of his six outs via strikeout.
Offensively, Northview out-hit Diamond Ranch, 13-2.
Dean Curley went 2-for-4, with a double and two runs, and Eligh Hidalgo singled and scored.
Andrew Baltazar had an RBI double and scored twice.
Batres helped his own cause with two singles, an RBI and two runs.
Granados had an RBI double.
Nick Peoples walked and scored two runs.
Ken Rodriguez went 3-for-3, with a run and three RBIs.
Ivan Barragan doubled, scored and had two RBIs.
Moses Medrano had an RBI single.
Up next: The Vikings will travel to West Covina on Wednesday for a 3:15 contest with the Bulldogs.
