Etiwanda Snaps 9-Game Losing Streak on Friday; Eagles Defeat Los Osos, 7-3

Baseball:

The nine-game slide for the Etiwanda baseball program is over.

The Eagles last victory came all the way back to April 6th, when they hammered Walnut, 17-4.

But after five consecutive Baseline League losses, Etiwanda defeated Los Osos, 7-3, on Friday.

The Eagles had 1-0, 3-0 and 3-2 leads until Los Osos caught them in the top of the fifth inning.

But Etiwanda would scored four runs in the bottom of the inning and Garrett Mnich would make that stand up.

Mnich went 2 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, walking two and striking out a pair of Los Osos batters.

Jorge Solares surrendered three runs on five hits over his 4 2/3 innings on Friday.

He walked two and struck out three.

Evan Tiemann walked, scored and had an RBI double for Los Osos.

Devean Alvarez singled and scored and Dylan Mohler had an RBI base hit.

Blake Boggs walked, singled and scored for the Grizzlies.

Korey Reed allowed five runs on nine hits over his four innings.

He walked one and struck out four Eagles’ batters.

Ryan Harrison went two innings for Los Osos and allowed two runs on three hits.

He walked one and fanned four.

Jack Holman went 3-for-3, with a walk, triple and two RBIs.

Alfredo Capacete doubled twice and drove in a run.

Austen Roellig walked, singled and scored two runs and Geo Mejia had an RBI base hit.

Abraham Zapata singled, doubled, scored and drove in a run.

Carlos Ramirez went 2-for-4, with an RBI and run scored.

Up next: Los Osos travels to Damien, and Etiwanda will host Chino Hills on Monday.
