Chris Ceballos Goes Distance & Strikes Out 10 in 3-1 Victory at West Covina; Charter Oak Senior Goes 2-for-3 With Double & 2 RBIs

Baseball:

Charter Oak won its fifth consecutive game on Friday.

More importantly, four of the five have been Valle Vista League victories.

Chris Ceballos went the distance in the 3-1 victory at West Covina.

Ceballos allowed just one unearned run on four hits.

He didn’t walk anyone and struck out 10 WCHS batters.

Jesse Chavez, Victor Mendoza and Brandon Holmes singled for the Bulldogs and Jacob Nguyen singled and scored.

Frank Hernandez drove in West Covina’s one run.

Evan Buhac had a solid outing, but was stuck with the loss.

Buhac allowed three runs on nine hits over his seven innings of work.

He walked three and struck out three Charter Oak batters.

Chris Ceballos singled, doubled and drove in two of the Chargers’ three runs.

Chris Sanchez went 2-for-3 and scored.

Ethan Milleson walked, singled and scored.

Gabriel Rico walked and singled, and Diego Ortiz walked, singled and scored.

Up next: Charter Oak will travel to Lakewood to take on Mayfair (6-12) this morning (Saturday) at 11.

Then, starting Wednesday, the Chargers begin a huge two-game VVL series with San Dimas.

West Covina will host Northview on Wednesday for the first of two VVL games next week with the Vikings.
