Baseball:

As much as high school baseball players love competing, it’s not always easy to get up for a 10 a.m. game on Saturday.

Last night, Arcadia improved to 6-0 in Pacific League play after sweeping a two-game series with Pasadena.

And approximately 14 hours later, the Apaches were making a 24-mile drive to Sun City to take on Village Christian.

Arcadia struck for seven runs in the second inning and defeated the Crusaders, 11-1, in five innings.

Calvin Peterson got the loss for VCHS after allowing sevens runs on six hits.

Brandon Nguyen walked, singled twice, scored two runs and had two RBIs.

Devon Eskridge walked, singled, scored and drove in one run.

Mikey Easter walked, singled, doubled, drove in three runs and scored.

Julian Eskridge had an RBI base hit and Daniel Chavez doubled and scored.

Ari Nurhadi singled, scored and had an RBI in the win.

Hunter Victorio walked, doubled and scored a pair of runs.

He walked two and struck out seven Mayfair batters.

Up next: Arcadia will travel to Burbank High on Tuesday to begin a two-game series with the Bulldogs.
