Zack Bauer Throws Second Consecutive 1-Hit Shutout; Charter Oak Roughs Up West Covina, 22-0, on Wednesday

Baseball:

For the second consecutive game, Zack Bauer has thrown a 1-hit shutout.

Last week, it was a 12-0 victory over Covina in seven innings, and this time, the Chargers defeated West Covina, 22-0, in five innings.

Bauer allowed one hit, walked two and struck out eight Bulldogs’ batters.

Adrian Gayosso’s double accounted for the WCHS offense on Wednesday.

The Chargers got seven runs off of Edwin Segovia, 13 (seven earned) from Steven De Luna, and two (one earned) off of Elijah Hernandez.

Chris Ceballos singled three times and scored three runs.

Gabriel Rico walked, singled twice, doubled, scored four runs and had two RBIs.

Aaron Osorio walked twice, singled, doubled, drove in four runs and scored three times.

Anthony Vasquez had two doubles, four RBIs and he scored three runs.

Chris Sanchez singled, doubled, drove in three runs and scored.

Diego Ortiz walked, scored twice and had a two-run double.

Bauer singled, scored twice and had an RBI to help himself out.

Alejandro Blanquet doubled, drove in four runs and scored twice.

Up next: Charter Oak will travel to West Covina on Friday.

First pitch is set for 3:15.
