Anderson Lang Gets Win on Mound & Scores 2 Runs; RHP Defeats Providence, 14-4, on Tuesday

Anderson Lang went four innings and allowed just one earned run to help lead Rio Hondo Prep to a 14-4 Prep League victory over Providence.

Lang allowed two hits and struck out three Pioneers’ batters.

Joltin’ Daniel DiMaggio singled, doubled and drove in two runs for Providence.

RHP got six runs off of Andrew Malong on six hits and five walks, and five more runs off of Rex Kaplan.

The Kares football stars made a huge impact in Tuesday’s win.

RHP running back Jonathan Guerrero walked, singled twice, scored two runs and drove in three from the leadoff spot.

Gio Ortega, the two-way stud, walked, doubled, scored two runs and drove in one.

And quarterback Jack Van Cleve walked, scored and had a two-run double.

Lang helped his own cause with a single and two runs scored.

Damyan Diaz singled, doubled, scored and had two RBIs.

Trevor Scott walked twice, scored and had two RBIs.

Ryan McCulloch walked two times, had one RBI and a run scored.

Up next: The Kares and Pioneers will be back at it on Wednesday.
