Baseball:
Daniel Ruiz extended Maranatha’s seven-game win streak on Friday night and did so with a little panache.
Ruiz threw a no-hitter and the Minutemen defeated Heritage Christian, 4-1, in Olympic League play.
Ruiz surrendered an unearned run, walked four and struck out four Warriors’ batters.
Sean Boen went the distance for HCHS, and surrendered four runs (three earned) on four hits.
He walked two and fanned five MHS batters.
Ryan Mittelman and Dylan Zdunek both had RBI singles.
Kade Bowden doubled and scored.
Mikey Ebner walked, singled, scored and drove in a run.
Ben Staub and Isaac Ton scored one run apiece in the MHS win.
Up next: Maranatha will host Damien tomorrow (Saturday).
First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Brookside Park.
